Dr. Amanda James is wonderful. I thought she established good rapport with me right away and she listened to my concerns. Thank you.

I have had very good care with Providence overall. Everyone I have dealt with has been extremely courteous and professional. My only wish is that providers would reach out with the results of lab tests in a more timely manner. In my experience, after waiting several days after the results were available on MyChart, I still had to call to discuss them with the providers and then wait for a callback. In the case with Amanda James those lab results were all negative and so there was no issue.

She listened to my concerns and reassured me of something I knew to be true.

It took a while to get the appointment from a referral. I had trouble getting through to them with the automated phone system. I would be on hold for a while and then the call would drop. Once I got through everyone was very helpful. The provider I met with was very knowledgeable and helpful.

While Amanda is competent overall, I need to stress that when I began to ask her a question she immediately interrupted me. This is unacceptable from a medical provider, although my experience is that it is a routine occurrence. It shows that the provider is more interested in speaking than in listening. When I objected to make sure my question was heard, I was told a story about someone else - I don't need stories about other people, I need answers to my questions. Overall, Amanda is a good provider. But she needs to learn to put the patient first and listen very carefully when spoken to, and then directly address the substance of the patient's concerns. This is not hard to do once one puts one's mind to it.
