About Brian L. Hanson
Dr. Brian L. Hanson attended Loma Linda University School of Medicine and completed his gastroenterology training at the Lahey Clinic followed by an ERCP advanced fellowship at Maine Medical Center under the expert endoscopist Dr. Douglas Howell. Dr. Hanson has been practicing gastroenterology in Northern California since 1998. He was most recently with Kaiser Permanente in Vacaville and before that in private practice in Ukiah. He has a particular interest in removing large colon polyps and has a certificate from the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy for Lower GI endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). Dr. Hanson's philosophy of care: "I am empathetic to the people that seek GI care and always seek to understand their needs regarding disease and symptom education as well as diagnosis and treatment of their GI condition. I also remove large colon polyps and I have received advanced training in ERCP." He enjoys all aspects of gastroenterology care and building relationships with patients, primary care providers as well as office and endoscopy nursing and support staff. He is a musician and a car enthusiast.

Dr. Hanson is treating me for a long term condition and has arranged with my insurance company for covered extended visits based on continuity of care. He has recommended me for financial assistance, which I have gotten, for expensive medication. He has allowed me to do my own study and participate in the choice of medication. I feel like he really cares about my progress. The people in his office are very knowledgeable, helpful and easy to contact. Also they are all available on "My Chart".
