Matthew D. Canipe, MD

Dr. Matthew Canipe is a general surgeon practicing with Providence Medical Group in Fortuna and Eureka. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed his residency at Ochsner Foundation Hospital. Dr. Canipe performs a wide-range of surgeries including gallbladder removal, hernia repair, stomach surgery, as well as liver, colon and pancreatic surgery.

Dr. Canipe believes in open and honest communications lines with his patients while prioritizing compassionate care to foster positive health outcomes. He feels that good communication between doctor and patient is important, and that the more his patient knows about their own medical condition, the better the medical management will be.
