About Christopher R. Williams
Born in rural Georgia, the son of a teacher and construction worker, I learned the value of hard work and education early in life. I fell in love with the great outdoors and moved west for my professional training. I strengthened my leadership skills, surgical skills, and personal grit during my years as a general surgeon in the US Air Force. While in the Air Force, approximately 30% of my surgical volume involved surgical breast care for both benign breast diseases and breast cancer. We cared for retirees and VA patients with breast cancer. While there, it was rare for me to have a scheduled OR day where at least one breast cancer patient was not involved. I participated in a multidisciplinary tumor board that was devoted specifically and only to breast cancers. One of my partners was a fellowship-trained breast surgeon. He would often specifically ask me to operate with him when bilateral surgery was required. He is now currently on staff at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, one of the world-premier centers for the care of breast cancer. I have significant experience with breast conservation surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsy, mastectomy, and even axillary dissections. I feel comfortable with diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical management, and follow up of breast cancers. On a personal note, my mother had breast cancer when I was a teenager, so the care of breast cancer patients is important to me. It is one of the reasons I decided to become a general surgeon. I bring excellence and compassion to my job as a general surgeon. I have broad surgical expertise and look forward to educating my patients as well as meeting their surgical needs. Professional interests include trauma, complex laparoscopy, endoscopy, hernia repair, reflux, breast cancer and other breast diseases, diseases of the abdomen and alimentary tract including the colon and small intestine, as well as skin and soft tissue surgical diseases. My goal is to join this thriving community and build a better future, with superior quality, compassionate surgical care, right here in Polson.

I enjoy spending time with my family in the outdoors. I love trail running, skiing, fishing, hiking, biking, and anything else that gets me outside. At home, I like listening to music and cooking.

Dr Williams explained what he was going to do and did it. The procedure was very painful and he explained why and asked if I needed pain reliever, when I said no he told me I could take Tylenol and it wouldn't have a negative effect on my kidneys. Which is very important to me.

My provider knew what I was there for and was lable to provide services that day rather than put me off for another week or two. Which I really appreciated

My experience, having a hernia removed, was, under the circumstances, the very best anyone could hope for. The doctor, nurses and staff were excellent at caring for me; polite and attentive. For anything done by the same people that were working on me I know exactly where I would go.I am actually looking forward to have the after surgery check-up in two weeks.

Dr. Williams and team did a great job before and during surgery! I'd highly recommend him to anyone needing surgery.
