About Tracy L. Haley
While in college majoring in physiology, Tracy Haley, MD, was fascinated by the complexity of the human body, which piqued her interest in disease processes and treatments. She discovered in medical school that surgeons had the unique ability to cure a patient with surgical treatment. “I imagined how satisfying it would be to have the ability to restore a patient to full health just with an operation,” she recalls, and confidently chose her specialty in general surgery.
Dr. Haley’s philosophy of care is founded on the partnership between the patient and physician in the delivery of medical care. “I strive to educate my patients about their disease and treatment options so that they can make the most informed decisions possible about their health,” she says.
As a general surgeon, Dr. Haley focuses on procedures for breast cancer and breast disease as well as minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. She has extensive experience in sentinel node biopsy, a procedure that allows for staging of breast cancers with decreased post-operative risks. Her focus is on the multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of breast cancer, and she works to coordinate complex care for these patients with a team approach including surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and survivorship support.
Dr. Haley was the first in her family to obtain a four-year college degree, which she earned from the University of California, Davis, where she also studied medicine and completed her internship and residency programs.
Having grown up in a small mountain town, Dr. Haley loves the familiarity of being a physician in Southern Oregon, where she is able to provide "big town medical care" in a "small town atmosphere." “It’s the best of both worlds,” she says, delighted to raise her two children in the community where she practices. When not working, she enjoys gardening and spending time traveling with her family.

I am from out of state. Our level of care where I live doesn't even begin to compare with the care and treatment I received at this facility and from this provider. They made me feel very safe and well cared for. Looking forward to continuing my experience with them.
