About Carol Ko
Carol Ko is a board-certified, licensed genetic counselor and serves as our Regional Genetic Counselor Supervisor. She specializes in both inherited cardiovascular disease and cancer genetics. In 2019, she founded the first Orange County Cardiovascular Genetic Clinic to establish access to cardiovascular genetic services for our at-risk community members. Carol is committed to educating healthcare providers and the broader community about inherited heart disease. Additionally, she is passionate about creating community awareness, supporting underserved populations, and mentoring students. Carol earned her master’s degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of Michigan and has conducted and published research on the utility of genetic testing and clinical screening for families affected by hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Originally from Orange County, she holds an undergraduate degree in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles. As our regional cardiovascular genetics provider, Carol sees patients at all of our Orange County locations.
