About Dillon Van den Berg
Dillon van den Berg is a senior board-certified, licensed genetic counselor specializing in cancer genetics. He received both his bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences and his master's degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of California, Irvine. He is especially passionate about inherited gastrointestinal cancer syndromes, such as Lynch syndrome, and inherited prostate cancer syndromes. An exceptional student mentor, Dillon is dedicated to community outreach, particularly supporting men with inherited cancer syndromes, and frequently speaks to physician and lay community groups. He believes strongly in the delivery of comprehensive genetic testing and advanced genetic counseling that together guarantee personalized care tailored to individuals and families. He emphasizes the benefits of risk management, early detection, and cancer prevention. As the Orange County genetics team lead coordinator of our revolutionary Anatomic and Molecular Pathology Screening Program, Dillon oversees the timely identification of patients with cancer syndromes based on their pathology reports, often during the vulnerable time of a new cancer diagnosis.
