Christopher V. Chien, MD

Dr. Chien is an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiologist committed to improving the lives of patients with complex cardiovascular disease. He is driven by the power of scientific discovery and medical innovation to transform care, particularly through life‑saving therapies such as heart transplantation that allow patients to live longer, fuller lives. He earned his medical degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science and completed his internal medicine residency at Cedars‑Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He then pursued fellowship training in cardiology and advanced heart failure at OHSU, where he also obtained a master’s degree in clinical research—and where he developed a deep appreciation for the Pacific Northwest. Outside of medicine, Dr. Chien enjoys spending time with his wife, children, and dog. His interests include tennis, basketball, world travel, cooking, and exploring how people think, make decisions, and collaborate.
