Nicole N. Ransbottom, AGACNP

I learned I wanted to be a medical provider after breaking my arm when I was 12. I received a large amount of medical care for this injury and was inspired to become a nurse. I was a nurse for 12 years before going back to graduate school to become an NP. I spent many years working in cardiac surgery, with heart failure patients, and as a heart transplant coordinator. This extensive cardiac experience promoted me to pursue my current role of Advanced Heart Failure NP. I attended nursing school right after high school at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. After graduation I worked in the ICU for two years in Upstate NY before moving to Los Angeles where I worked for the next decade. During my time in LA, I attended ULCAs Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. I had a well-rounded experience working in LA at Cedars Sinai and completing my clinicals at UCLA and Keck Medicine of USC. I have had wonderful opportunities to speak at conferences and be a part of many projects and change during my career. My most important role as a provider is listening to the patient. Each patient is unique and if you don’t take the time to hear their story you will miss critical information that will aid in the diagnosis, treatment, and overall care of the patient. I enjoy running, reading, cats, dining, traveling, hiking, and plants!
