About Zachary J. Stevens

Medicine enabled me to help people in a way that I could almost immediately see them benefit. The science of medicine also appealed to me. I was drawn to cardiology in particular due to its complexity and variety. Cardiac conditions range from chronic conditions like high BP to acute problems like heart attacks and everything in between. Hearts are made up of many moving parts (pumps, valves, electricity, muscle, etc.) and any one of them malfunctioning can cause a problem. I grew up across the Midwest but home is the Twin Cities in Minnesota. I followed my wife to Portland when she came here for school (Audiology) and we ultimately decided we wanted to stay. My hobbies include running (mostly 5K’s with the occasional half-marathon or marathon), exploring new restaurants/breweries, keeping my dog (Watson, a 4 y.o. corgi) occupied, and traveling (next trip is to Portugal/Spain with tentative plans for Australia, Germany, and Norway).
