I have been seeing Dr. Miranda since he took over after Dr. David Okun retirement (many years now). I have a genetic blood disorder requiring a phlebotomy when iron levels are too high. In the past 3 years I usually have had a zoom meeting with Dr. Miranda approximately every 6 months after having blood work done a few days prior. At the zoom meeting we discuss the need for another phlebotomy. Since I learned that I had this disorder 25 years ago, I have Doctor visits approximately every 6 months. At the visit the Doctor orders blood tests needed for the next visit in 6 months. When I meet with the doctor I already know if a phlebotomy is needed. The system we have works great for both patient and doctor.

Dr. Miranda is always very kind and helpful for any concerns I may have about my breast cancer journey. Happily I am now cured. He was also aware of my latest diagnosis of Lymphocytic Colitis for which there is no cure, only a hope of remission. The journey to purchase the drug needed to treat this condition takes many phone calls with promises to call me back that rarely happen and starts all over again with me making more calls. This journey is causing me great anxiety and stress. Plus the drug is extremely expensive and I require 11 more doses. Dr. Miranda listened with great empathy and compassion. I appreciated him allowing me to voice my concerns. It was very helpful.
