Ashley P. Shubert, MD

Dr. Ashley Shubert grew up in a small coastal town in New England and has steadily moved West since. She began her health care journey at Carleton College where she was a member of the swimming and diving team. While there, she had the opportunity to fundraise for and perform research with the Ted Mullin Fund, in memory of a prior teammate who died of sarcoma.

Inspired by her education in biology and genetics with her desire to work directly with patients, she pursued research at the National Cancer Institute focusing on genetics and personalized medicine in oncology. She received a medical degree from Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, followed by both residency and fellowship training at Oregon Health and Science University. In her practice, Dr. Shubert cares for patients with all types of cancers and blood disorders, with a special interest in kidney and prostate cancer, multiple myeloma, chronic lymphocytic leukemia and anemia. She is thrilled to offer evidence based and personalized treatment options in Hood River so her patients have access to excellent care close to home.

Dr. Shubert comes from a family of teachers and enjoys using her background in medical education with her patients in clinic. She takes time to ensure that patients and caregivers understand the diagnoses and treatments so they can create a tailored treatment plan together.

Outside of work, Dr. Shubert enjoys hiking, paddle boarding, cheering on the Portland Thorns and Timbers, and spending time with her husband and their two cats.
