Dr. Benner joined the Internal Medicine department in August 2010 as a physician who specializes in comprehensive primary care. After completing his undergraduate degree from UC Santa Barbara he went to medical school at the Medical University of Ohio. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine from UC Irvine with a particular interest in preventative care.
In his free time Dr. Benner enjoys bicycling, surfing and spending time with his family.

We discussed the issues that were most concerning to me and after a thorough exam, I felt Dr Benner put me on the right paths and ordered the appropriate tests for taking the "guess-work" out of my situations and putting me on the correct prescriptions to help me improve my health no mask issues. In addition, he provided a referral to a orthopedic surgeon to review and evaluate my hip bursitis and torn hamstring.

Dr. Benner is an excellent physician! Every time I am in his office I feel like I am talking to a friend. This visit was a pre-op to a procedure I am going to have. Dr. Benner had to run a couple of tests, compile all the information and send it to the surgeon that is doing the procedure. Reassured me that all the necessary information was gathered, explained in detail that information, and made sure it was sent to the surgeon's office.
