Jae Y. Choi, MD

Dr. Choi earned his medical degree from Washington State University’s Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine in 2023 and completed his internship and residency at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle in May 2026. Virginia Mason is nationally recognized for excellence in high-quality patient care, multi-specialty services, and healthcare innovation. Prior to attending Northwest University (2017–2019), Dr. Choi served in the U.S. Army from 2013 to 2016, where he worked as a platoon medic supporting approximately 30 soldiers and later served as a Sergeant and Team Leader. In these roles, he organized basic life support training for non-medical soldiers, operated a battalion aid station, oversaw the triage of injuries and illnesses, and led a three-member team during tactical combat casualty care training. Dr. Choi’s clinical areas of expertise include geriatric medicine, dementia, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and musculoskeletal pathologies. His training at Virginia Mason allowed him to care for patients with highly complex medical problems with state-of-art specialty interventions and he feels comfortable managing complex medical problems outside of the hospital. He resonates with a motto, “patients are the center of everything we do,” and emphasizes respect, transparency, and shared decision-making with his patients. He feels privileged to be an important part of patients’ lives and to serve as a bridge between medical science and the public.
