Claire T. Higgins, MD

Dr. Turina grew up in Portland, Oregon and attended Oregon State University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and biophysics. During undergrad she conducted research in stroke prevention and childhood muscle cancer. After undergrad, she worked as a scientist identifying blood markers for early cancer detection. Later she followed this passion for cancer research and conducted clinical trials investigating new treatments for prostate cancer. In working with cancer patients Claire found her calling to become a physician. She attended Oregon Health & Science University for medical school and hopes to practice as an internist after residency. Her professional interests include cancer, palliative care, and medical education.
