About Vashti A. Ivey
“Vashti gained an interest in medicine as an adult. She started her career as a nurse extender and worked her way up to practicing as a registered nurse. “The more experience I gained, the more I wanted to expand my ability to meet patients’ needs,” she says. Today, she is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with advanced training in several areas and has been practicing for over ten years.
“It takes a team to make positive changes in a patient’s health,” says Vashti. “Patients are an important part of their own team, and educating them, answering their questions and providing options are all important to me.”
A graduate of Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO, Vashti completed her nurse practitioner studies at Cox College in Springfield, MO. She also has earned certification in wound care (WCC) and advanced certification in ostomy care (COCN-AP). She also performs foot care.
As one of the many things she loves about her works, says Vashti: “I meet the most interesting people!” From scientists and screenwriters to early telephone operators and female rodeo clowns, she has enjoyed working with a wide range of people and personalities.

Vashtie is the ONLY wound specialist I would EVER have. I was treated at Asante Hospital for my wound, and given horrible advice and instructions. By the time I saw Miss Vashtie I was in horrible shape; wound badly infected, and a horrible smell. But Miss Vashtie treated me starting in February; she is fantastic. She is the only wound specialist I would treat at this time. My wound is now healed. If I have any more problems, I will return to my Physician's Assistant; he is the only that receommended Miss Vashtie; very smart of him!
