About Brian T. Little
Brian Little, DO, MPH, MA, FACOI, started volunteering with his community’s emergency medical squad at the age of 16. He then became an emergency medical technician and continued this work until he went to medical school. “I fell in love with internal medicine, as it incorporates not only primary care, but most subspecialties as well,” he says.
In his practice, Dr. Little emphasizes ongoing partnerships with individuals concerning their medical care and strongly believes in harm reduction, which is the practice of meeting an individual where they are at. “Additionally, providing appropriate information to empower the individual allows them to make the best reasonable choices to maintain, and ultimately, improve their health,” he says. Dr. Little believes his role as a provider is to serve with courtesy, empathy, and be a resource to the individual, as well as being a guide to improve overall health and wellness. He thoroughly enjoys making connections with his clients and assisting them with routine care, being there for difficult journeys, and using humor and laughter in the pursuit of helping them be their healthiest selves. “I also enjoy teaching individuals about their medical care so they may become informed to make educated and personalized decisions,” Dr. Little adds. He listens and hears with an empathetic ear and will work with his patients to achieve their health care objectives. He says “gentle nudging may be required at times.”
Dr. Little completed his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, as well as his internship and residency training from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine. Throughout his career, Dr. Little has used his bachelor’s degree in psychology and background in treatment of opiate addiction with medication-assisted treatment (suboxone).
Although he was born in The Bronx, New York, Dr. Little grew up on the Jersey Shore. He moved to Portland in 2010 and immediately knew he had found his home. He considers himself a true foodie and loves cooking and eating any type of cuisine.

Dr Little has been the best provider I've ever had the pleasure to experience in all my life. He listened to me explain symptoms and actually cared enough to recommend some tests that confirmed what he had suspected might be issues that could be resolved. My previous doctor did not take the time to do a deep dive into what my symptoms were and Dr Brian Little changed my opinion on healthcare, I used to avoid going to the doctors office and now enjoy my visits and respect his input in my health and treatments. By far best doctor I've seen out of the dozens I've been through over time.

Providence Patient
Dr. Little gave me an almost immediate appointment when I expressed to him I was having extreme anxiety over a new diagnosis I had received from a scan ordered by my oncologist. I turned to him because the issue involved some blood clots found in my lungs and did not involve cancer.
