Jimmy T. Ton, MD

Dr. Ton is an specialist physician with dual board certification in both Interventional and Diagnostic Radiology. He performs a wide array of minimally invasive image-guided procedures in the vascular and oncologic space. Dr. Ton has special interest in interventional oncology including embolization, ablation, and histotripsy; he has published chapters on the ablation of liver cancer. Furthermore, Dr. Ton also focuses on interventions of vascular diseases including pulmonary artery thrombectomy, deep venous thrombectomy, dialysis interventions, complex filter and foreign body retrievals.

As a California native, Dr. Ton obtained his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Biology at the University of California, Berkeley. He then went onto pursue his medical degree in Philadelphia at the Drexel University College of Medicine where he graduated with honors. Dr. Ton then returned to California to complete his Radiology residency at the University of California, Irvine where he served as Chief Resident. Following residency, Dr. Ton was selected to train at the prestigious Hospital of the University of the Pennsylvania for his Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship, where he trained under pioneers in the field. His practice now encompasses the full spectrum of interventional radiology procedures including: uterine fibroid embolization, prostate artery embolization, kyphoplasty, liver portal and biliary interventions. Passionate about innovation, he also has interests in emerging techniques in geniculate artery embolization, cryoneurolysis, pulsed electric field ablation and histotripsy.
