I began my career in family practice with a focus on health promotion and wellness care throughout a patient's lifespan. As my career developed, I became interested in the underlying causes of cancer and the increasing efficacy of new cancer therapies. With the development of molecular diagnostics and targeted therapies, the prospects of improving the lives of cancer patients are better than ever. I was initially drawn to the medical oncology practice at Providence due to its reputation for providing personalized patient care and therapeutic development.

The team's approach involves the cohesive interaction of doctors, nurse practitioners, researchers and knowledgeable oncology nurses to provide the specialized needs each patient requires. I feel the role of the nurse practitioner at the eastside Providence Cancer Institute Franz Clinic is unique in that we are able to provide quality care, managing both the patient's physical and psychosocial needs with close collaboration of our physicians.
