About Barry M. Czeisler
As a neurointensivist, my focus is on caring for patients with neurological emergencies, including those with stroke, brain hemorrhages, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, status epilepticus, meningitis, encephalitis, Guillain-Barre syndrome, hypoxic brain injury, and various other acute neurological conditions. My goal is to save every single neuron that is still alive when a patient arrives under my care. By managing all aspects of critical care while always keeping the nervous system in mind, we can optimize the nervous system’s environment for recovery to achieve the best possible neurological outcomes.
