About Walter G. Carlini
Dr. Walter Carlini’s decision to become a neurologist stemmed from his fascination with the biology of the nervous system. In his practice, he emphasizes the scientific approach to medicine and enjoys figuring out the “diagnosis puzzle.” He has a straightforward approach to medicine and caring for his patients. “I want to provide as much time for my patient as I can and provide the best medical care possible,” he says.
Dr. Carlini, a graduate of Harvard University, earned both his PhD in neurosciences and his medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. After completing an internship at Oregon Health & Science University, he returned to Stanford for his residency in neurology, followed by a fellowship in clinical electrophysiology.
Dr. Carlini's clinical interests include stroke, epilepsy, migraine, dementia, movement disorders, and multiple sclerosis. Dr. Carlini has expertise in clinical neurophysiology and in the use of botulinum toxin injections to treat a variety of neurologic disorders. Actively involved in clinical research, he has served as a principal investigator in more than 60 clinical trials spanning a wide range of neurologic disorders, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, migraine and headache, and neuropathies.

Dr. Carlini was very helpful and explained things well. He took the time to review my chart, do some in-office tests, and listen to what my wife and I had to say. Dr. Carlini's assistant who took my blood pressure and oxygen levels, etc, was very kind and friendly. It was really nice to see the same lady as we've seen In the office previously. It adds a level of comfort to see the same person as before rather than have the staff constantly changing like in some offices. The lady at the front desk was great, also. We don't have any complaints about this visit.
