About Garni Barkhoudarian
Dr. Barkhoudarian’s research interests include evaluating outcomes of pituitary and brain tumor surgery, and biomarker research for pituitary adenomas, meningiomas and metastatic brain tumors. He is an investigator of clinical trials evaluating brain and pituitary tumor treatment as well as hydrocephalus analysis.
As director of the Paci¬fic Neuroscience Institute Skull-Base and Endoscopic Microdissection Laboratory, he conducts skull base and anatomic research to help innovate minimally invasive approaches to intracranial tumors. This laboratory is also central to the education and training of clinical and international fellows at PNI.
Dr. Barkhoudarian is an active member of national societies including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the North American Skull Base Society (NASBS), the Society of Neuro-Oncology, the Pituitary Society, and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (AACE). He serves on the board of the CNS and is the Scientific Program Chair for the 2023 CNS Annual Meeting. He is actively involved in the education of neurosurgeons and has organized and participated in national and international courses and conferences. He is currently president of the Armenian American Medical Society, which helps local and international Armenian healthcare professionals as well as advancing the delivery of care to Armenians locally and globally.
