About Heather Abe
“I am passionate about helping women and understanding where they come from; providing guidance in a way that’s based on who a woman is and how they perceive the world is something I enjoy,” says Heather Abe, DO, MPH.
Dr. Abe is compassionate and loves being an OB-GYN and the daily variety it provides. “I get to see women become mothers and transition through their lives as their children get older or they experience menopause,” she shares. “It’s a great mix of science and high-level critical thinking, along with being able to be a part of people’s lives in a meaningful way.” She also enjoys research, evidence-based medicine, and working on efficiencies to improve clinic operations and electronic medical record documentation. Dr. Abe is originally from the Philadelphia area. After residency, she and her husband moved from the east coast to Oregon. Before joining Providence, she practiced most recently in McMinnville. Dr. Abe has three young children that keep her busy with school and playtime activities outside of work. In her spare time, she loves to be with her family, play board games, hike and cook.

I had an appointment initially with my regular gynecologist. She had been in surgery and so my appointment was going to be extremely late. I was not notified of this until I got there. The front desk worked hard to find a doctor who could see me and do the exam. Dr. Abe went above and beyond!
