Shahan V. Yacoubian, MD

Dr. Shahan Yacoubian is the first orthopedic doctor (I've seen many in the last 25 years since my knee issues have started) who was willing to do surgery on me to help alleviate chronic pain and improve my functionality. He is very caring, has good bedside manner and approachable. He even provided his personal cell phone number and responded promptly when I reached out to him after my partial knee replacement.

This provider is a specialist that previously operated on me. He is outstanding. I now need knee replacement surgery on my other leg. Since my prior surgery, Facey Medical Group has acquired OSS. Facey has been my primary care provider for the past 5+ years. The improvement with the front desk, scheduling and the X-Ray team were very noticeable to me. OSS has improved because of Facey.

Dr. Yacoubian explained my x-ray, examined my incision. We chatted about the state of my hip and leg muscles and the exercise program I follow. He told me what I need to do when I see the dentist. We made an appt for one year from my surgery date. I told him I expect balloons and cake. I hope he comes though...

Dr. Yacoubian has performed 3 joint replacement surgeries on me, the last being an extremely complex hip/femur/knee revision surgery to prevent possible amputation of my leg. He also evened out my leg length discrepancy---a procedure that is very difficult to do. I had lived with one leg shorter than the other for 9 years, and evened them out to 100% even. He changed my way of life---walking, standing, and restored my balance. I am a surgical nurse and know how hard he worked to give me that outcome. He is a topnotch orthopedic surgeon, and is kind, helpful, and direct in terms of what to expect from the surgery he is going to do. I would NEVER even entertain the idea of having surgery by any other orthopedic surgeon. He is one of a kind!

I have been treated by this provider for a meniscus tear in the past. While he is not my primary care provider he is my go-to for orthopedic care.

The office staff was friendly. Dr. Y was clear in his recommendations and listened when I asked for more PT sessions.

Been seeing my care provider for a number of years---2 or 3 surgeries. I haven't had a bad experience.

The doctors response to my inquiry went like this, " if you have a problem with your car you take it to a mechanic and they know what to do and how to fix it. So do we . We know what we're doing with your hip.

I was treated very well being a patient from out of town with an emergency.

The doctor explained everything clearly and in full detail. Every question I had he was able to answer and that was very important to me

Dr. Yacoubian was polite, friendly, concerned, and knowledgeable. This is my second visit to see Dr. Yacoubian, and the previous time I also had dealings with his superior physical therapy team. Great crew!

The entire experience was good.

I've seen Dr. Yacoubian twice in the past 3 weeks and after 68 years, I can safely say he is one of the top three doctors I have ever seen. He listens and explains everything thoroughly at my level. Also, my MRI clearly shows damage to my knee where I can easily see another doctor suggesting an immediate knee replacement. That's the easy way out. He gets to operate and makes more money. But, he didn't do that. He suggested I do physical therapy first to see if that helps and put off such drastic surgery first. Dr. Yacoubian is a person who clearly thinks about the patient first.
