Dr. Shahan Yacoubian is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in joint replacement surgery, complex revision surgery (previously implanted joint replacements) and trauma/fracture surgery. He is a general partner of Orthopaedics Surgery Specialists. Fellowship trained in adult hip and knee replacement and reconstructive surgery at the world renowned Harvard Medical School's Brigham & Women's Hospital, Dr. Yacoubian cares for a wide spectrum of joint diseases from the initial onset of cartilage degradation to complex joint replacement surgery. Dr. Yacoubian is the only fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center focusing on joint replacements; other orthopaedic surgeons throughout the greater Los Angeles area frequently refer patients to Dr. Shahan Yacoubian because of his expertise in joint replacement surgery. Dr. Yacoubian has extensive surgical experience in the care of arthritis patients using advanced operative techniques in cartilage preservation procedures (ACI/Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation), osteotomies, partial knee replacements, total joint replacements (with minimally invasive techniques), complex revisions, and fracture surgery. I was referred to doctor Dr Y for diagnosis of hip pain by my neurosurgeon and my appt was endorsed by my GO and oncologist. I find Dr Y to be professional, knowledgeable and kind. He ordered x-rays necessary for diagnosis and I received the immediately Inder the same roof. They're sent to the doctor Immediately and I was called back to his office where he reviewed them with me. I got my diagnosis. It was very clear to me and I understand next steps to resolving my pain. I also have hope and know what's ahead for regaining mobility and quality of life.

Dr. Shahan Yacoubian is the first orthopedic doctor (I've seen many in the last 25 years since my knee issues have started) who was willing to do surgery on me to help alleviate chronic pain and improve my functionality. This provider is a specialist that previously operated on me. He is outstanding. I now need knee replacement surgery on my other leg. Since my prior surgery, Facey Medical Group has acquired OSS. Facey has been my primary care provider for the past 5+ years. The improvement with the front desk, scheduling and the X-Ray team were very noticeable to me. OSS has improved because of Facey.

Dr. Yacoubian explained my x-ray, examined my incision. We chatted about the state of my hip and leg muscles and the exercise program I follow. He told me what I need to do when I see the dentist. We made an appt for one year from my surgery date. I told him I expect balloons and cake. I hope he comes though...

Dr. Yacoubian has performed 3 joint replacement surgeries on me, the last being an extremely complex hip/femur/knee revision surgery to prevent possible amputation of my leg. He also evened out my leg length discrepancy---a procedure that is very difficult to do. I had lived with one leg shorter than the other for 9 years, and evened them out to 100% even. He changed my way of life---walking, standing, and restored my balance. I am a surgical nurse and know how hard he worked to give me that outcome. He is a topnotch orthopedic surgeon, and is kind, helpful, and direct in terms of what to expect from the surgery he is going to do. I would NEVER even entertain the idea of having surgery by any other orthopedic surgeon. He is one of a kind!

I've seen Dr. Yacoubian twice in the past 3 weeks and after 68 years, I can safely say he is one of the top three doctors I have ever seen. He listens and explains everything thoroughly at my level. Also, my MRI clearly shows damage to my knee where I can easily see another doctor suggesting an immediate knee replacement. That's the easy way out. He gets to operate and makes more money. But, he didn't do that. He suggested I do physical therapy first to see if that helps and put off such drastic surgery first. Dr. Yacoubian is a person who clearly thinks about the patient first.
