Peter S. Birnbaum, DO

Dr. Birnbaum was born and raised in Fullerton, California and graduated from Fullerton High School. He has obtained well-rounded experiences in academics and extracurricular activities. Outside of work, he has strong interests in water sports. He played water polo while at Fullerton High School achieving 1st Team All League and all CIF honors. He also competed in intercollegiate water polo at UC Davis. He has since transitioned to surfing and often travels internationally on surf trips. He lives in Huntington Beach and surfs there regularly.

Dr. Birnbaum’s academic achievements include being awarded Intern of the Year while at Oakland General Hospital/Michigan State University. He has been directly involved in research and has 2 major publications. His first major publication was completed during his residency. It involves hip screw fixation for children with Slipped Capital Femoral Epiphysis (SCFE). His second major publication was performed during his fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City. It involves interposition arthroplasty of the elbow.
