I saw this provider 10 years ago and was happy to know he was back in practice.

A true professional, and pleasent doctor

Dr Schmidts prowness with the computer -being able to move between providers both in and OUTSiDE of Providence effortlessly- to read tests and clinical notes is AMAZING. He researched info relative my case effortlessly in seconds. Much faster than other physicians in and out of Providence I see.

Everything went well

Dr Schmidt is extremely knowledgeable and thorough in the area of shoulder repair. I would recommend him, and have, to friends and anyone I come in contact with who has shoulder concerns. Dr Schmidt also shows concern and empathy for his patients. In my opinion, he's the best shoulder orthopedic surgeon available.

Dr. Schmidt was excellent relating tio this shoulder injury. That said there is no "open MRI" any longer in providence. I strongly recommend the follwing: 1) expand the imaging to include updated equipment and "open" MRI, and 2) bring back the inhouse labs for routine blood work.

There was NO Bad. Doctor was kind, interested in my issue. Very knowledgeable & just a very nice man. I felt totally comfortable with him, during my first visit.

He is up to speed on all the medical procedures and services that he provides to his patient. He is a 100% very good doctor. He takes notes with his phone too later go back and review them. He records every session that we have so he doesn't forget anything and I would suggest him to anybody that needs to go see an orthopedic for any kind of bone problems. As a matter of fact, I'm fixing to go for surgery this Thursday to have my arm fixed and hopefully that surgery goes well. I'm a little bit stressed out but yeah.

Dr. Eric Schmidt is the best! He actually performed shoulder surgery on my injured shoulder 15-16 years ago. I'm very active, mtn biking, snow skiing, golfing etc. I injured the same shoulder in January 2026 in a skiing accident. During my 1st office visit with Dr. Schmidt after my accident he was confident that I could rehab my shoulder with a Physical Therapist back to normal in 3 months. Well I'm back riding and golfing right now with no issues whatsoever. Dr. Schmidt is super knowledgeable about shoulder issues and what course of actions are needed to correct based on individual patient's specific symptoms. I would highly recommend him.

My PCP referred me and highly recommended Dr. Schmidt as he had seen the Doctor for the same problem. He wanted me to see the Doctor for a second opinion. Dr. Schmidt far exceeded my expectations. He did a thorough exam including my Xray and MRI. He explained and drew sketches for me to understand. I was totally impressed. Very personable and very thorough. He went way beyond what I experienced from a shoulder specialist that I previously saw. Easy to rate him a 10 out of 10. He is my Doctor going forward.

Dr Schmidt was very thorough with explaining what was going on with my shoulder and all options for my condition, without a doubt the best surgeon I have seen to date and the staff was very friendly and accomodsting

Eric Schmidt is amazing. This doctor and the way he performs his practice should be modeled across all of Providence. This doctor knew exactly what I was going though, what was needed, and clearly explained things to me. Immediately after my MRI I could see that he reviewed my results and made notes on my chart on a Friday afternoon. First thing Monday morning the doctor called me directly to discuss my results. I have never had anyone do this...not for decades. This is how medical treatment used to be and still should be. Hands down he is an amazing doctor and I have tremendous respect for his work ethic and the way he conducts his practice.

He is incredibly knowledgable, very helpful, and provided print-outs of the issues I am having with my shoulder so I could understand it all. Simply put, Dr. Schmidt gave me my life back (guessing) 12 yrs ago repairing my shoulder. He was a great Dr. Then,And I feel the same now.
