About Richard J. Myers

Dr. Richard Myers is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic trauma surgeon. He specializes in traumatic injuries to the musculoskeletal system (fractures, dislocations, tendon ruptures, etc.). He is fellowship trained in orthopedic traumatology, allowing him to care for the most complex injuries of the musculoskeletal system including fractures of the pelvis, fractures around or involving joints, and multiply injured patients. Additionally, he is skilled in dealing with complex infections of the bone and soft tissue, fractures that don’t heal or heal incorrectly, and amputation care. He comes to Montana with over 8 years working in a high acuity, high-paced orthopedic trauma position in Coastal Virginia. His care philosophy involves an all-hands-on-deck approach to a patient’s recovery, enlisting the patient and their friends/family to set up a patient-centered community of support, in which Dr. Myers is a pillar. Some days he can be more of a coach, other days a therapist, but always the patient’s number one advocate. He likens his care process to a team, of which he always strives to be the patient’s greatest teammate.
