About Alan R. Burningham
As a physician, my goal is to provide high-quality, safe and reliable care for my patients,” says Alan Burningham, M.D. “I do my best to know my patients and individualize their care to align with their goals.” Dr. Burningham’s philosophy of care to stay up to date on best practices and use them consistently. I chose otolaryngology because of my desire to help relieve the suffering of others due to illness. Otolaryngology includes a wide range of diseases and conditions that can affect people at any stage in life. This diversity makes the practice both challenging and rewarding. Dr. Burningham mainly sees patients at our Newberg location but additionally sees patients at our Providence Bridgeport location in Tigard, as well. Dr. Burningham earned his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. He completed an internship in general surgery and a residence in otolaryngology at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. In addition, he completed a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. Dr. Buningham is Diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Burningham is one of the most empathetic doctors I have ever seen. Since my initial surgery in September of 2023, it has been a nightmare trying to navigate the persistent ulcers, congestion, swelling, and inflammation over the last three years. We have navigated a variety of medications and have even seen a Rheumatologist with his referral. We've now come full circle, and he has finally recommended a second surgery after exhausting all other options. While yes, it has been a long road, and I am exhausted and frustrated with the process, Dr. Burningham and his team are without a doubt the most compassionate, empathetic group of people in the field of medicine that I have ever come across. I feel heard, and seen at every appointment, and have established a rapport with Dr. Burningham's team that keeps us laughing at the ridiculousness of my sinuses inability to heal itself.
