Jeff C. Yu, MD

Dr. Jeff Yu was born in Taichung, Taiwan and moved to the U.S. with his family at the age of 3. He grew up in California and graduated from UC Berkeley in 2011 with a B.A. in Economics and a minor in mathematics. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine with his M.D. in 2015. He completed his pediatric residency training in 2019 from UNLV School of Medicine and stayed one extra year to serve as 2019-2020 Chief Resident. He returned to California to join Los Alamitos Pediatrics in late 2020. He is board-certified in General Pediatrics. Dr. Yu is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and conversant in Spanish. He is passionate about languages and in addition to Mandarin and Spanish, also studied Latin, Japanese, Cantonese, Taiwanese, and learned the Korean alphabet while in college. Food and travel are his other loves, and he loves to cook and enjoy cuisines from all around the world. He and his husband hope to travel to every single continent within their lifetime. Dr. Yu is originally from Tustin in Orange County but currently resides in Long Beach.
