Emily Schurz, PTA

Emily is originally from Alaska and has spent time in Colorado, California and Eastern Oregon, where she earned her Bachelor's of Science from Eastern Oregon University while majoring in Exercise Science. She moved to the Portland area in September 2009 to complete the PTA program at Mt Hood Community College. Emily has experience with a wide range of patients. Whether working with post op patients, managing chronic conditions or guiding injury prevention, Emily combines clinical knowledge with compassionate and individualized care to empower each person on their journey to better health. In addition to her clinical role, Emily serves as the Regional Clinical Education Coordinator for the Oregon region of Rehabilitation Services. In this leadership role, she oversees clinical education placements for physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, audiology, and athletic trainers. She committed to about supporting the next generation of rehabilitation professionals and fostering high-quality clinical learning experiences. Personal Interests: When not working, Emily enjoys in hiking, backpacking, and exploring the outdoors. She likes to unwind with cooking, reading, and time spent with her family and her dog, Piper.
