Jacob J. Sheff, DO

Dr. Sheff’s father is a physician. Growing up, he enjoyed listening to his dad talk about his day at the dinner table. He was also impressed by how much the people in their community appreciated his father’s care. “I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do in medical school. It was my wife who noticed how much joy I get working with children and suggested pediatrics for a career. As usual, she was right. I can’t imagine a more rewarding job. I love getting to know my patients and their families, helping them through illnesses and watching them grow and develop into flourishing adults.”

“I strive to provide quality care while focusing on safety. I am an advisor to parents and always consider their values and opinions when making medical recommendations. When managing chronic conditions, I encourage lifestyle modifications before resorting to medication, and even then, I try to limit the dosage.”

A board-certified pediatrician, Dr. Sheff earned his medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He completed his internship at Peconic Bay Medical Center, on Long Island (NY). His pediatric residency training took place at the joint Wright-Patterson AFB/Wright State University program in Dayton, OH

When not in the office, Dr. Sheff enjoys reading and creative writing (some of which has been published). He also loves going on adventures with his wife and daughter; visiting museums, traveling abroad and exploring all the natural beauty Oregon has to offer.
