“I am passionate about helping women and understanding where they come from; providing guidance in a way that’s based on who a woman is and how they perceive the world is something I enjoy,” says Heather Abe, DO, MPH. Dr. Abe is compassionate and loves being an OB-GYN and the daily variety it provides. “I get to see women become mothers and transition through their lives as their children get older or they experience menopause,” she shares. “It’s a great mix of science and high-level critical thinking, along with being able to be a part of people’s lives in a meaningful way.” She also enjoys research, evidence-based medicine, and working on efficiencies to improve clinic operations and electronic medical record documentation. Dr. Abe is originally from the Philadelphia area. After residency, she and her husband moved from the east coast to Oregon. Before joining Providence, she practiced most recently in McMinnville. Dr. Abe has three young children that keep her busy with school and playtime activities outside of work. In her spare time, she loves to be with her family, play board games, hike and cook.

Dr Heather Abe was so nice and extremely easy to talk with! I was a little nervous going to the appt, but she instantly made me feel very comfortable. I'm planning on doing yearly check-ups with her.
