About Jaaron T. Smith
Dr. Smith, PsyD, is an Assessment Psychologist at the Providence Psychology Clinic at St. Vincents and the Providence Psychiatry Clinic, East. He began his health care journey at Portland State University, where he earned a degree in Psychology. He went on to receive a master's and doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Pacific University's School of Graduate Psychology and completed his internship and residency at the Pacific Psychology and Comprehensive Health Clinic. In his practice of psychology, he has focused on adult neurodevelopmental disorders, such as ADHD and Autism. His practice emphasizes evidence based and neuro-inclusive practice. He values being non-judgmental, and believes that patients often are experts on themselves, but are seeking validation or vocabulary for their experiences. Dr. Smith is especially passionate about caring for adults with neurodivergent experiences, specifically ADHD and Autism. In addition to clinical care, he led many trainings on adult ADHD for his medical colleagues and caregivers. Additionally, he supervises psychology interns and residents at Providence and the Pacific Psychology and Comprehensive Health Clinic. Dr. Smith is also a member of the American Society for ADHD and Related Disorders, the American Psychological Association, and the Oregon Psychological Association. Outside of work, Dr. Smith enjoys playing tabletop games and being outdoors - hiking, paddle boarding, camping, and loves spending time with his partner, two teenage kids, and 2 dogs. Dr. Smith believes that part of taking ownership over your health is being understood by your healthcare team. His evaluations help empower patients to seek out appropriate treatment but also become good self-advocates when navigating complex and difficult health systems.
