Jason R. Liu, MD

Jason R. Liu, M.D., is an assistant professor of radiation oncology at both City of Hope® South Pasadena and Glendale Radiation Oncology Centers, where he works closely with cancer patients and their multidisciplinary cancer care teams to provide expert, personalized treatment. Dr. Liu was drawn to a career in medicine because it combined his interest in the sciences with a desire to have a positive impact on the lives of others. As a radiation oncologist, he enjoys building longer-term relationships with his patients as they undergo treatment. His goal is to create an environment in which patients feel supported, understood and empowered throughout their cancer journey. After earning his medical degree at the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania, he completed an internship at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, followed by a residency in radiation oncology at City of Hope Duarte, where he was named Trainee of the Year in 2024. He was also presented with the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) Early Career Award in 2021 for his work on discrepancies in real-world practice versus standard-of-care treatment for advanced lung cancer. Dr. Liu has written or co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and abstracts.
