About Christianne A. Wa

Christianne A. Wa, MD, was born and raised in San Francisco, CA. As a higl1 school senior, she was accepted into the combined Baccalaureate/ M.D. program at the University of Southern California. While earning her M.D. at the Keck School of Medicine of USC, she was inducted into the Order of Arete for her exemplary leadership. After her internship al Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, Dr. Wa completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Arizona. She then completed her fellowship in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at Associated Retinal Consultants, William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Wa is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retina Specialists, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. Dr. Wa has published numerous research publications and a book chapter related to her interests in surgical outcomes after retinal detachment repair, secondary 1ntraocular lenses, and endophthalmitis. She has also presented novel research at national meetings and is a co-investigator in several clinical trials. Dr. Wa is passionate about saving vision and restoring the gift of sight. She is dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of treatment and providing exceptional patient-centered care by educating and empowering her patients. Dr. Wa is absolutely thrilled to return home to the San Francisco Bay Area, after practicing in Sacramento. She is looking forward to serving her home community once again. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, live music, and cheering on her Warriors, Niners, Giants, and Trojans.
