About Amy S. Kehl

Dr. Kehl is a board-certified Rheumatologist. In addition to practicing general rheumatology, Dr. Kehl has expertise in musculoskeletal ultrasound.

Dr. Kehl was born and raised in Pasadena, California. She graduated with college honors and Phi Beta Kappa distinction from UCLA with a B.S. in Psychobiology and minors in Anthropology and Public Health. She attended medical school at University of California San Francisco, where she was a dean's research fellowship recipient. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine at University of California San Diego. She completed her Rheumatology fellowship at University of California San Diego and Cedars Sinai Medical Center, where she was active in clinical research in the field of spondyloarthropathies, specifically examining the link between the microbiome, gut and arthritis. She started her career in academic medicine at UCLA, where she was a full-time clinician educator. She continues to be involved in medical education efforts for medical students, residents, and fellows. She then spent several years in the bay area practicing clinical Rheumatology before relocating back to Los Angeles. She has since been involved in clinical research trials in lupus and other rheumatic diseases.

Dr. Kehl believes in an evidenced based yet personalized approach to patient care and enjoys creating partnerships with her patients in order to provide an opportunity for them to share in the decision-making process. She believes in taking the time to get to know her patients to better understand their unique health priorities. The field of Rheumatology is very exciting and rapidly evolving with many new therapeutic advances and she aims to provide comprehensive and up to date information for her patients to help guide their treatment plans. She thrives on seeing her patients get better, and lead productive and active lives.

Dr. Kehl is board certified in Rheumatology, Internal Medicine and is certified in musculoskeletal ultrasound. Dr. Kehl has expertise in treating and evaluating the following conditions: Psoriatic arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Scleroderma, Seronegative spondylopathies, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Reactive arthritis, Inflammatory bowel disease related arthritis, Sjogren's syndrome, Systemic lupus erythematosus, Vasculitis, Osteoarthritis, Connective tissue diseases, Early intervention and novel therapeutics in autoimmune diseases, early intervention and novel therapeutics in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and lupus, treatment and prevention of gout, Inflammatory arthritis, Osteoporosis, autoinflammatory disorders, Polymyalgia rheumatica, giant cell arteritis, inflammatory myopathies, Polymyositis, Dermatomyositis, Pseudogout - CPPD, joint aspirations, Intraarticular cortisone and hyaluronic joint injections, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound .
