About Sheron G. Porat
Life can be overwhelming, and sometimes it feels like stress, anxiety, depression, or past trauma are standing in the way of the life you want to live. If you're feeling stuck, unsure of your next steps, or struggling to move forward, I’m here to help. My goal as a therapist is to create a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore your challenges, build resilience, and develop practical strategies to navigate life’s ups and downs. I specialize in working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, anger management, and relationship challenges. Whether you’re dealing with childhood trauma, loss, military-related PTSD, or daily stressors that feel unmanageable, I work collaboratively with you to find a path forward. Having personally overcome severe anxiety, I understand how overwhelming it can be—and I bring both professional expertise and personal insight to my work. I earned my master’s degree in Social Work with an emphasis on Children, Youth, and Families from the University of Southern California (USC) and a bachelor’s degree in Biology from California State University, Northridge. My background allows me to take a well-rounded approach to therapy, blending scientific understanding with deep emotional exploration to uncover and address the root causes of distress. In our work together, I integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Solution-Focused Therapy. I also provide couples and family therapy, helping loved ones communicate more effectively, build stronger connections, and create healthier relationships. I believe that healing is a journey, and you don’t have to walk it alone. Whether you're looking to manage anxiety, heal from past trauma, or find clarity in your next steps, I’m here to support you. Let’s work together to help you move toward a life that feels fulfilling, balanced, and aligned with who you truly are.
