About Erick M. Westbroek
Dr. Erick Westbroek is a fellowship trained neurosurgeon and spine surgeon at St. Jude Heritage Medical Group. After attending medical school at Stanford University, he moved to the East Coast and did his residency in neurosurgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He served as Assistant Chief of Service in 2019 and stayed at Johns Hopkins for his fellowship in Complex Spine Surgery. He is grateful to now be able to serve the community and is passionate about working with patients to come up with the surgical plans that match their goals and values. Dr. Westbroek leverages technology such as surgical robots to make surgery less invasive. He has a strong clinical interest and specific training in spine oncology. His other areas of interest include spine deformity, brain tumors, trigeminal neuralgia, and Chiari malformations.

On the day of my husbands visit with Dr. Westbroek I had called and left a message with the receptionist to please thank the doctor for his time, care and patience he showed to my husband.He had gone in for a second opinion.And my concern was that he would be just be rushed threw and my husband's concerns and questions would be dismissed.Dr took his time talked directly to my husband , explained to him his x-rays and the areas that my husband was concerned with.Simply put my husband left with understanding what was going on and with his dignity.My husband has Alzheimer's as a caregiver this is huge to see him smile, and say "he explained everything!" Thank you Dr Westbroek
