Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Dr. Hwang received her B.S. in Chemistry at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and her medical degree at University of Texas, San Antonio. She came to Los Angeles for her residency at UCLA.

Dr Hwang was the doctor I needed at the time. She helped me feel secure in her assessment and lead me to believe we would get my diverticulitis under control. As a doctor she went beyond what I typically expect from doctors nowadays. She was absolutely a blessing to me.
