Katy S. Konkle, MD

Dr. Konkle was raised in Michigan where her childhood primarily revolved around figure skating and skiing. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Using this research degree, she explored intracellular signaling pathways related to childhood cancers and adult cardiovascular disease. Eventually, she left her role as lab manager to obtain a Masters in Basic Medical Science and a Doctorate of Medicine from Wayne State University School of Medicine, Detroit. After graduate and medical school, she completed an additional 7 years of training at the University of Michigan. Still interested in research, she completed a Urology research fellowship prior to a General Surgery internship and Urology residency. After 29 years of education and training, she finished residency in 2017 and became a board-certified General Urologist in 2019. She reflects, "I have been exceptionally fortunate, both personally and professionally. I gain much satisfaction from my ability to assist my patients through education and treatment, including surgery. I look forward to building a thriving Urology practice here in Seaside, Oregon."
