Providence names new chief human resources officer

Providence has selected Julie Orchard to serve as the new chief human resource officer (CHRO) for the Inland Northwest. Julie has been working as the interim CHRO since November 2022.

Julie brings nearly two decades of human resources experience to the role. She began her career with Providence in 2016, serving as HR business partner for Providence Medical Group. In 2020, she was promoted to HR manager, serving Inland Northwest Washington. She later served as strategic program manager for Eastern Washington and Montana before being named interim CHRO.

Julie’s experience includes positions at Frito-Lay and at Skils’Kin where she served as the human resources director, ensuring people with disabilities had the tools and training to advance their careers.  

Julie earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Washington University. She holds a Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification.

Julie serves as the past president of the Washington State Society for Human Resource Management Council and is a board member for Leadership Spokane.
