Eric Hodes, M.D., MBA, appointed chief medical officer for Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital
Providence Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital recently appointed Eric Hodes, M.D., MBA, to serve as chief medical officer. Dr. Hodes has served in the interim role since February 2023, and he is a longstanding member of the hospital’s medical staff.
“In collaboration with our physicians, leaders, caregivers, and community members, Dr. Hodes’ leadership and clinical experience has enhanced quality and operations at our hospital over the past seven months,” said Chief Executive, Chuck Kassis. “Dr. Hodes’ strong vision will ensure we deliver world class care to our neighbors and all those in need.”
With more than 20 years of clinical leadership experience, Dr. Hodes has a track record of enhancing operations and quality as a physician executive, leadership coach, consultant, and anesthesiologist.
When asked why he is excited to serve in this role, Dr. Hodes shared, “I began my clinical career here. It’s an honor to now support our talented and dedicated physicians, nurses and ancillary staff in this administrative role. Our care teams are committed to providing each patient with an exceptional experience and it is rewarding to serve our community alongside them each day.”
Before joining Santa Rosa Memorial’s administrative team, Dr. Hodes served as chief medical officer for Methodist Hospital of Sacramento-Dignity Health, a 158 acute-care bed facility and 171-bed sub-acute skilled nursing long-term care facility. Prior to that, Eric was president and chief executive officer of the Anesthesia and Analgesia Medical Group, Inc. (AAMGI) located in Santa Rosa. From 2012-2017, he oversaw this regional physician practice which provides perioperative anesthesia services for many Sonoma and Napa County facilities. In this role, he cultivated relationships with local hospitals and health systems. He held many leadership positions while at AAMGI.
Dr. Hodes earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, and received his medical degree from New York Medical College.
He lives in Santa Rosa with his wife and they have two adult children. The couple recently completed the 100-mile Tour du Mont Blanc hike through France, Switzerland and Italy.
