About Heh Shin R. Kwak
Dr. Heh Shin Kwak is committed to empowering patients to take an active role through dermatology education, prevention, and personalized care. She is particularly passionate about helping patients understand the importance of skin health and sun protection. Dr. Kwak enjoys caring for patients of all ages and values the opportunity to treat multiple generations within the same family. She considers building long-term relationships with patients and earning their trust to be among the most rewarding aspects of practicing medicine. Dr. Kwak earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor through the highly selective Integrated Premedical-Medical Program, an accelerated eight-year program offering early admission to medical school for a limited number of exceptional students nationwide. During medical school, she completed a National Institutes of Health research fellowship in dermatology, focusing on clinical trials and translational research. She went on to complete her dermatology residency at Stanford University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Kwak is board certified in dermatology. Outside of medicine, Dr. Kwak enjoys rock climbing, hiking, travel, and embarking on new adventures and active pursuits with her husband, son, and daughter.

This was a somewhat unique visit. I thought I had a weird skin growth on my back. I called Dr Kwak, my regular dermatologist and promptly got an appointment. It turned out I had a tick that had attached itself to my back. Dr Kwak immediately knew what it was, removed it, gave me a sheet of information, and prescribed the appropriate precauntionary antibiotic.
