I have always been determined to make an impact in my community, and after experiencing my Mother give birth, I have had a passion for maternal and infant care. As soon as I learned what a doula was, I knew that is what I was called to do. I have a naturally nurturing spirit and I am driven to help lower the maternal and infant mortality and morbidity rates in our country. I have family and friends who have fallen victim to circumstances that were preventable, which pushed me to take the steps necessary to be where I am today. Now I pride myself in being someone in the community that can give evidence-based information, so others can feel empowered when navigating pregnancy, Lactation, and parenthood. I know that childbirth is supposed to be a beautiful life event and I strive to prepare my clients in all aspects for that moment when it comes. I want them to know they have someone on their side who will advocate for them and encourage them. I will not judge because every journey looks different, and I honor everyone’s choices. My goal is to get to the roots, that is where the biggest changes can be made, and that is where a family blossoms. I am a certified Full Spectrum Doula trained by SMC Doulas and DONA, a Certified Lactation Education Specialist, a Pregnancy and Infant Loss awareness Advocate, and a Peer Wellness Specialist. I specialize in providing care to black people and those affected by mental health and addiction.
