I am a doula and a Ph.D. in Statistics. How funny can that be? Everybody asks: How come? Well, during my teenage years I started practicing meditation and since then have dreamed of having a job that uses it. In my early 20s, I traveled several cities in Brazil assisting seminars about meditation and quality of life but my math genes led me to my academic career. Nonetheless, there was always something missing. There was too much love in my heart to be buried in front of books and a computer. So I decided to change my journey and got my first doula training in October 2016. During my training, I realized how useful mindfulness and meditation techniques can be during childbirth to bring peace to the mind, relax the body and ease the pain. I speak English, Portuguese and Spanish. In my 20s I took six years of Chinese and I am open to more language experiences. This helps me serve families from different cultures, with different needs and wishes. Just reach out!
