About Melanie De Silva
I fell in love with babies during nursing school and started working in the neonatal ICU with premature and sick newborns as a young nurse. As a hospital nurse I didn’t have as much time to spend with my patients as I would have liked. As a doula, I can spend that time and give the support needed to the new mom and baby. This gives me joy. I have two children of my own who are starting their own lives, 2 elderly cats and a terrier. I love to be outdoors year around skiing, biking and being on or near the water.
