About Nomarie M. Miro Hernandez
Hello, my name is Nomarie, I am a 33-year-old mother of one very feisty toddler, and as of recently, a new doula. I enjoy cooking, reading, yoga and most of all, spending time with my kiddo. For as long as I can remember, I’ve known two things for certain about myself. First, I was born to be a mother, and second, that I wanted nothing more than to be a person of service. As the eldest daughter of 4 siblings, growing up in a large Hispanic family, I've had the privilege of learning how to care for little ones with a hands-on approach starting from an early age. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, with Spanish being my first language. At a young age, my family relocated to Florida, and in 2017 I ventured out on my own moving to Oregon. For the past 5 years, I’ve worked in social services with a special interest in helping at risk families with young children, the houseless population, and those impacted by sexual abuse/violence. After the birth of my children, I realized that my life’s calling and true passion is in childbirth and postpartum support. It would be my privilege to be of service to birthing people, providing support during one of the most intimate moments in their lives. I am currently a student doula, finishing up my certification as a birth doula as well as working on my postpartum & lactation certifications. My approach to birth is that every labor is just as unique as the birthing person. As a doula, I want to meet my clients where they’re at and grow from there. I will provide my clients (and partners/family) with evidence-based support that will empower them to make informed decisions about their care and birth. When needed I will also provide your partner or chosen family member with guidance so that they can be just as involved in the birthing experience. My role will be to provide emotional, informational and physical support as needed, using methods and techniques based on my clients’ comfort levels. What I want most is to assist and support you in making your birth the birth you have always dreamed of. Let's DOULA this!!!
