Kirsten Johansson, FNP

Kirsten Johansson is a nurse practitioner at Providence Cancer Institute, seeing patients in Newberg, OR. Her philosophy of care is rooted in compassion, presence and respect for the human experience of illness. Kirsten chose this field because she is deeply moved by the resilience and courage of patients and families facing cancer. Every interaction is an opportunity to listen, to educate and to advocate—helping patients feel seen, heard and supported in the most challenging moments of their lives. In her practice, Kirsten strives to provide care that is not only clinically excellent and evidence-based, but also deeply personal and centered on each individual’s goals, values and quality of life. She believes that healing occurs on many levels—physical, emotional and spiritual—and that genuine connection is as essential as any treatment we provide. Through collaboration with the interdisciplinary team and a commitment to lifelong learning, Kirsten aims to bring hope, comfort and dignity to every patient encounter.

Outside of work, Kirsten finds renewal and balance through travel and exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest with her husband and their two daughters.
