About Victoria Smet
Victoria Smet, CNM is a Certified Nurse Midwife at Medford OB/GYN Health Center, providing outpatient care and inpatient birth services at Providence BirthPlace. She began her health care journey at Willamette University, where she studied Exercise Science on a pre-healthcare track. After obtaining her undergraduate degree, she heeded to her calling toward midwifery and nursing and enrolled at Oregon Health and Science University, dreaming of supporting women through pregnancy and their lives to be the healthiest versions of themselves. She earned her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 2013 and her Master's of Nursing in Nurse Midwifery in 2015.
Victoria considers herself an avid Southern Oregonian, having grown up and spending most of her adult life in the area. She has been lucky to be a nurse midwife in the community since 2017. Through her career years, she's grown to love the connections and bonds formed through the provider-patient relationship during preconception, pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Additionally, she feels grateful to carry those connections forward through the lifetime by offering gynecologic care to patients. Victoria's specific clinical interest is in exercise in pregnancy and postpartum.
Outside of work, Victoria enjoys trail running and doing various crafts. She and her husband especially love visiting family-friendly wineries and local parks with their three young sons.
