About John E. Chapin
Dr. Chapin is a neuromuscular neurologist who specializes in disorders of muscle and nerve. Diagnosis and caring for persons with ALS is a primary interest of Dr. Chapin who is the co-director of the Providence/St Luke's Multidisciplinary ALS clinic. In addition to ALS, Dr. Chapin has a particular interest in myasthenia gravis, muscle diseases including inclusion body myositis, dermatomyositis and other inflammatory myopathies as well as inflammatory neuropathies including CIDP and multifocal motor neuropathy. When not caring for others, Dr. Chapin enjoys cycling, fly fishing and cooking, especially spicy cuisine such as the green and red chile dishes he grew up loving in New Mexico.
